Josephine chair .

Zebra-wood, mahogany. I think of this chair as something you might find in the Paris dressing-room of Josephine Baker, the 30's star who wowed French audiences with her unique mix of the sophisticated and the sauvage.

Sally chair.

Cherry veneer, Italian bending poplar. A "Eureka!" moment; finding I could induce a lateral twist to the back of the chair by splitting the laminates part-way down. It cups the sitter in a most luxurious manner. Sally's husband Ed is a bicycle-maker; I pointed out that the principle was the same as the split in a bike's seat tube that allows clamping of the seat-post..."

Bubinga and leather. Homage to Ruhlmann.
Stool.
Deco. Curly Maple. A set of six which were lost in the Oakland fire of 1991. This was the first commission for a couple for whom I subsequently designed a dining set, coffee table, buffet, home office suite, and a front door.
Armchair.
Mahogany: Something more traditional.
Settee.
Walnut. Greene and Greene, and a little Frank Lloyd Wright in the back.
Bubinga Desk Chair.
Designed to accompany a desk of the same material.
Oak Chair.
Extremely Comfortable. In limited production.
